The short version
CoachKey is built to work on your device. Your coaching data — teams, players, practices, drills, plays, attendance and stats — is stored locally on your iPhone. We do not run servers that collect it, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers. There are no third-party trackers or analytics in the app.
What CoachKey stores
To make the app work, CoachKey saves the following on your device:
- Your profile — the name, email and optional photo you enter when you set up the app.
- Your coaching content — teams, players (names, numbers, optional photos), practices, drills, plays, attendance records and game stats.
- Your password — if you set one, it is stored as a secure, salted hash in the iOS Keychain. The password itself is never saved in readable form and never leaves your device.
All of this stays on your iPhone. It is included in your device's normal iCloud or iTunes/Finder backups if you have those enabled, under Apple's control — not ours.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect or transmit your personal information to our own servers.
- We do not use advertising, ad networks or marketing trackers.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs to profile your behaviour.
- We do not require an online account to use the app.
Photos
If you add a profile or player photo, CoachKey asks for permission to access your photo library through Apple's standard picker. The image you choose is stored only on your device, as part of your app data. CoachKey does not upload your photos anywhere.
Sharing a play video
When you export a play as a video and tap share, iOS hands the file to whichever app you pick (Messages, Mail, and so on). What happens to the video after that is governed by that app's own privacy practices, not ours.
Children's privacy
CoachKey is intended for coaches and staff. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because data never leaves the device, any names a coach enters for players are stored locally and under that coach's control.
Future updates (iCloud sync)
We may add optional iCloud sync in a future version so you can keep your data across your own Apple devices. If we do, that data would be stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's privacy terms, and we will update this policy before the feature ships.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, when the change is significant, note it in the app's release notes.
